Review
I have an Epson Stylus Photo R800 color inkjet printer at home.
I bought it, since it was the perfect quality/price option at that time.
Some time ago, surfing the Internet, I have found a solution on how make prints even cheaper. People were talking about continuous ink systems (CIS/CISS/CFS) at forums.
Since I am investigating everything before buy, I has searched the information about these systems for about a month. At the most of forums the iInk system from InkRepublic was advertized, so forum members started considering it as spam. But, indeed, I have found also several more or less independent reviews, that were describing pros and cons of different systems.
So after much reading came out the following decision:
-
Good systems are damper and capsule design,
Bad systems are remakes of original cartriges,
Quality of ink means much.
In a search of good systems came out Resetters, MIS and InkRepublic.
Ink - OCP, MIS, Inkrepublic and Lyson.
Some more reading and searching guided me to choose InkRepublics iInk system and MIS ink for the first try. MIS system has sponge in design, do it could clog printer head and Resetters has capsule design which makes it difficult to install.
Forum users said, that compared MIS and InkRepublics ink, and the first gave better color match to original Epson ink. Lyson are too expensive, and OCP might clog printer head.
OK, but my investigation also showed what problems may occur during ink system use, and how it is possible to prevent or deal with them.

The major problem is that ink may dry out and clog the printer head. May be prevented with printing at least once a week.
Then ink may leak. Prevented by choosing a system with good design.
Then printer cartriges has microchips which show ink level and block printer once ink level drop low. Can be fixed either by buying or building chip resetter or buying autoreset chips. The latter solution is included within systems, so there is no problem any more.
And the last but not least is that printer uses ink to clean itself and once ink waste pad may come full, so it will be necessary to bring the printer into service center. This problem is avoided by using waste ink tank and a software utility that can reset printers internal chip, that it responsible for waste ink pad.
Since nobody has advertized this waste ink is included within system, I started to search and found only Resetters were selling it alone. But ordering only waste ink tank from them didn't make any sence because of shipping fees.
So I thought it shouldn't be very difficult to add one more bottle and tube to the kit, and I asked InkRepublic directly about this. Guess what? They sent mail back stating that it is already included in new kits.
I didn't hesitate any more and ordered an R800 kit from InkRepublic and 8x2oz bottles of R800 ink from MIS.

Hi Guest,
They what company are you talking exactly about?
InkRepublic has the address and the phone, at least it should be written on the packaging box, which contained the CIS when it was received by you.
I didn't found their support page useless. It contains many different instructions for different printers.
Kit comes with written and video instruction on the CD disk included with it.
You should be writing about somebody else, than IncRepublic.
Anyway, thanks for your comment, and we all should be careful, selecting any product before buying it online.
